Steward, a 2026 running back from Michigan, has had exposure to large programs like Purdue, State of Michiganand the Wisconsin football program. The running back currently has three scholarship offers, but is still waiting for a “dream” offer from the Wisconsin football staff. During a recent interview, Steward spoke with Wisconsin Sports Heroes about your previous recruitment experiences.

As the Wisconsin football staff begins their search for recruits in the 2026 class, they have added one running back to their roster. Runner from Michigan Tomarion Steward has been in contact with the Wisconsin football staff since the 2026 recruiting began a few days ago.

The running back said his recruitment is going “good so far,” but he also expects it to continue to grow in the near future. When asked which defenseman he would like to continue talking to, Steward stated, “I would be happy to continue playing anywhere, but if I had a dream offer, it would be Michigan or Wisconsin.”
Steward expanded on his answer and said, “They both have a good running back program.”
Tomarion Steward: “I think what sets me apart is that I’m versatile”
According to Steward, the recruit admits there are plenty of other running backs in the class, but none have the same skill set. Steward stated, “I think what sets me apart is my versatility. I know when I need to exploit my speed and movements, but I also know when I need to exploit my power and strength.
The running back has become a huge fan of the longtime NFL running back Marshawn Lynchand likes to exploit the same aggressive running style. Steward stated, “I grew up watching him and I learned my moves from him.”
The Wisconsin Badgers football staff keeps a close eye on lively running
Although the Wisconsin football staff has not yet offered Steward a scholarship, they have made contact and hope to develop a close relationship. Steward’s recruitment has only just begun for most programs, so Wisconsin still has plenty of time to work with the running back. In the meantime, the recruit will attend camps and meet with various college staff throughout the summer.
