The Wisconsin football staff is expecting some electrifying and competitive football this season, which is why they invited a lot of recruits to the games. Getting a real and complete game day experience is something every recruit wants, but not everyone can have with the teams they want to join. Wisconsin embraced that last year as well, flooding the campus with as many recruits as they could.

One of the recruits that the Wisconsin football staff has invited to the upcoming clash with the Purdue Boilermakers is three-star 2026 linebacker Brady Ballart. Ballart, a native of Indiana, is a talented athlete with experience playing on both sides of the field. Despite his potential on both sides, it seems that Ballart will play as a linebacker when he reaches the college level.

Ballart currently has scholarships from Louisville, Toledo, Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Miami of Ohio. The linebacker has also drawn interest from Cincinnati, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota and Notre Dame, as well as the Wisconsin football program. Wisconsin has not yet offered Ballart a scholarship, but considering the recruit is making his second visit to Purdue, it may only be a matter of time.

Purdue was one of the first programs Ballart visited early in his recruiting career, but he hasn’t been back since. The Boilermakers visit Madison this season on Oct. 5 and hope to come away with a win in enemy territory. Wisconsin, however, is looking to dazzle its crown and top recruiting prospects.

What can Ballart bring to the Wisconsin Badgers football team?

Ballart is a gifted athlete both physically and mentally because of what he can offer his team on the football field. Inside linebackers are known for their ability to read the field and anticipate what will happen before it happens. Ballart does just that, and his innate ability to track the ball allows him to consistently finish plays.

The linebacker is also an exceptionally physical player, possessing both a prototypical physique for his position and great strength. Ballart stands 6-foot-2 and weighs around 215 pounds, with plenty of room to grow. Ballart also possesses incredible athleticism with a great burst of speed and the agility to cut in a different direction while running at full speed.

Ballart is currently considered an athlete due to the season he had last year, when the linebacker also played on offense for his team. Ballart recorded 525 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, along with 94 receiving yards. Ballart had 108 total touches on offense and certainly made the most of his game on that side of the field.

On defense, Ballart had 64 total tackles and seven tackles for loss, as well as an interception and two fumble recoveries. During his freshman year, Ballart recorded 98 total tackles, a sack and six tackles for loss. The athlete even tried his hand at punt returns last season, with two returns and just seven return yards from the linebacker.
