The Wisconsin football program has emerged as one of the top recruiting targets for the offensive line in the 2026 class. Gregory PatrickA four-star recruit out of Michigan, he narrowed his list to nine schools and blocked out the other programs interested in him. The opportunity to acquire Patrick is something that the Wisconsin football staff loves because of what he can offer the team. At 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, Patrick has a lot of strength for his size and makes his presence known on the field. While Patrick is known for his strength on the field, he is also an agile pass rusher who can provide active facilitate with his range of blocking talents.

Whether he needs to knock someone down the middle or fight off quick defensive players to allow the quarterback to make a shot, Patrick can do it. The offensive lineman’s recruitment has taken off this summer, as he currently has 22 scholarship offers before he decommits from his schools.

Wisconsin already has a lot of linemen after completing this latest recruiting class, but they are always looking to add depth. The Badgers believe that Patrick would not only be a great depth piece, but he also has the tools and versatility to slide into the starting lineup.

Will the Wisconsin football staff be able to sign Patrick in the future?

While it’s still early days in Patrick’s recruitment, there’s a good chance the recruit will commit to the Badgers. The reason for that is because Patrick hasn’t visited Wisconsin yet and has only been in contact with the staff via text, phone calls, and camps. Wisconsin is planning to bring Patrick to Madison for a game, which could be key in recruiting the offensive lineman.

The Wisconsin staff did a great job with Patrick early on, even without him recruiting on campus. Nebraska and Alabama are also two programs that didn’t have Patrick on campus before, but after he was recruited, he found a place in their group of schools.

Two substantial schools to watch will be Michigan and Michigan State, as it is unlikely anyone will be able to sway Patrick from staying in-state. Patrick is the son of a former Michigan State linebacker and has a close relationship with Michigan’s head coach Sherrone Moore which further increases its chances of remaining in this state.
