Wisconsin football: Ricardo Hallman brutally forthright about devastating loss to Alabama Crimson Tide

Wisconsin football got a taste of the harsh reality Saturday when the Badgers were destroyed at home by the Alabama Crimson Tide. The 42-10 loss to an SEC powerhouse was the first loss of the 2024 college football season for the Badgers, who were simply outplayed in virtually every aspect of the competition.

After the Badgers’ tough loss in Madison, Wisconsin football linebacker Ricardo Hallman made no attempt to hide his thoughts on his team’s standing against Alabama.

“It’s easy for me to say, ‘Oh no, you can’t judge us on that,’” Wisconsin cornerback Ricardo Hallman said. “But at the same time you saw it. Alabama is one of the leaders in college football. That’s where we want to be as a team, and today we were completely destroyed, and it was terrible. So it’s easy for me to say, “Oh, you can’t judge us.” But I don’t really know what to say to that. It was an early-season test that failed.”

The Badgers gained just 290 yards compared to Alabama, which accumulated 407 yards. Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe passed for 196 yards and three touchdowns on 12-of-17 completion while also rushing for two scores and 75 yards on 14 carries. The worse day for Wisconsin was the injury suffered by starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke early in the contest. Wisconsin had just 3/14 first downs and turned the ball over twice.

It won’t get much easier for Wisconsin, as the Badgers will play their first road game of the season on September 28 against a ranked team in the USC Trojans.
