Wisconsin mixed bag: Bowhunters Assoc. 84. Annual convention in Stevens Point on March 1


Clintonville, Wis. – The annual Wisconsin Bowhunters Association (WBH) will take place on Saturday, March 1 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center at Stevens Point.

The convention begins at 8 am with a business meeting, to which we invite members. The convention also includes suppliers display room (from 9:30 to 17:00), seminars, lotteries and games. Public opinion may participate (an entry fee for $ 5). The shooters will be at hand from Pope and Young and Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club; Public opinion may bring the head of scoring.

The convention ends with the annual award banquet. Wisconsin Bowhunter Dan Evenson is the main speaker.

WBH will also sponsor the national archery tournament in schools (NASP) during the convention.

“WBH is excited about our 84th annual convention. This is a great opportunity for members to meet and share stories, because we are working on behavior, promoting and protecting Bowhunting for many years,” said President WBH Rich Kirchmeyer.

The value of fishing in vast lakes described as “overstated” by $ 2 billion

Chicago – recreational fishing in Lake Michigan and the other vast lakes are worth billions of dollars, but apparently less billion than the amount cited for many years.

Eau Pleine Aerarator tank starting a hazardous ice for the order, open water warning

Wausau, Wis. – DNR and Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company (WVIC) staff began operating the Aerator in the Eau Pleine tank on Monday, February 10, according to WVIC. Eau Pleine is a 7000-hectare storage tank located in the southwestern Farthon. The aerator is located in a narrow section of the tank adjacent to the Big Eau Pleine Ferrier Park.

After the start of the aerator, there is a public notification of fishermen, snowmobile scooters and other traveling on ice that the aerator surgery creates hazardous ice conditions and open water. DNR staff installed rope barriers set off with flags and reflective signs at the entrance to this area to warn against danger. The warning signs were also published on the lands of Łódź.

The aerator is started to lend a hand maintain an appropriate level of oxygen in water for fishing. The start of the aerator’s work is aimed at using favorable levels of dissolved oxygen (to) and lend a hand in maintaining these levels for the rest of winter.

DNR looking for volunteer hunting mentors

Madison – DNR is looking for volunteers who lend a hand novices at all ages to exploit sheltered and ethical hunting, dividing their knowledge, hunting for knowledge, enthusiasm and stories.

Mentors can conduct a trip to study or organize workshops to teach modern hunters how to cook meat from the harvest. Mentors often work in one -on -one conditions. Volunteers can become an instructor or assistant in the classroom. Local groups usually organize a program. Volunteers can ask for an educational hunt outside the usual hunting season or become an instructor or assistant to hunting education. Outdoor skill workshops offer deer processing skills, sheltered firearms, shooting bases, tips for cooking wild game and many others.

DNR has 2-year oak cuttings for sale

Madison-Dnr has 2-year oak cuttings to buy in the Wilson State kindergarten. Seedlings are available due to high-quality cultivation and harvest of acorns in 2022. While many 1-year-old cuttings were purchased last year, others were grown for the next year, which caused the cultivation of a bumper of 2-year-old seedlings. Four species of native oaks are available for sale in the children’s room: Bagienne White Oak, Bur Oak, White Oak and Red Oak.

The Wilson State kindergarten produces seedlings for re -foresting, operating within the state of Wisconsin, which require the production and exploit of DNR seedlings for afforestation – future forest products, wildlife habitats, control of erosion and alleviating wind. The minimum order is 300 seedlings.
