Wisconsin has a modern elk management plan that calls for modern elk hunting regulations that could go into effect in 2025 along with a modern single season, modern elk zones and agricultural damage reduction plans.
The Natural Resources Board (NRB) approved the modern 2024-2034 plan at its August 14 meeting and then approved modern hunting regulations covering the season from next Saturday, October 15 to next Sunday, December 15. The modern plan also calls for specific permits in 14 modern units.
