I finished the October 6 issue of WON, No. 20, on Thursday morning, September 28, at a moose camp in central Montana. The print edition should be in subscribers’ mailboxes by Monday or Tuesday, October 2 or 3.
I managed to stream the September 27 Natural Resources Board meeting that evening by driving into a compact town 10 miles away and stealing the wifi from the only store in town. I wrote the first excerpt from State Roundup #20 below based on what I heard at the September 27 NRB meeting. Late Friday morning, September 29, after a morning of hunting, I drove the 40 miles to a larger town and when I regained cell signal, I received text messages informing me that Senator Rob Stafsholt and members of his Senate committee had rejected four of the five candidates yesterday afternoon, Thursday, September 28, leaving only Paul Buhr of the quintet on the NRB.
