Wisconsin vs Alabama football game preview

It’s finally time for Wisconsin football and its fans. This game against Alabama has been on many people’s minds for years. Tomorrow, the No. 4 Crimson Tide will visit Camp Randall Stadium in what may be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, non-conference home games in the history of the Wisconsin football program. Kickoff will be at 11 a.m. CST as it is part of the FOX Big Noon Kickoff event. Can the Badgers shock the college football world tomorrow? Here’s a preview of tomorrow’s match.

Wisconsin football needs to win the first quarter

Of course, football is a four-quarter game and one quarter will not decide about tomorrow’s match. However, Team Wisconsin must win the first 15 minutes if they have any chance. They need to keep the Camp Randall fans in this game right away. I think the dynamics in such a game are huge. The more the Badgers believe they can win, the better chance they have of staying in Alabama.

I’m not a fan of moral victory, but I think this looks like a scenario where if the team manages to hold on and stay within 10 points, you’ll feel like Wisconsin football is one play away from potentially turning the game around. If the situation gets out of hand earlier, there is no chance of worry.

Anything and everything should be on the table

In terms of execution, the Badgers need to be perfect tomorrow. If they decide to get innovative and run counterfeit plays on special teams, they can’t afford to miss it. After two games, I’m not sure the Wisconsin football special teams team can say they can do that, especially since they made a costly mistake in each of the first two games.

Offensively, I want to see if Luke Fickell and Phil Longo can be aggressive in staying on the field on fourth downs. At a time when it’s probably a better idea to play outfield, I want to see if they’ll roll the dice. I think they should because the Badgers have nothing to lose in this game. Why not?

On paper, there is no doubt that Alabama is much deeper and talented than the Wisconsin football team. The Badgers are excited about this opportunity. Stud safety Hunter Wohler even said he’s had this game marked on his calendar since high school. I like to see players get excited about this challenge throughout the week. They understand the opportunity that lies before them.

What bothers me most about this game is that Wisconsin didn’t give us much reason to believe they could stay ahead against Alabama. In their first two games, they trailed Western Michigan early in the fourth quarter and held a four-point lead over South Dakota early in the fourth quarter. I never thought the Badgers were in danger of losing these games, but when you see a team like the Crimson Tide on the schedule, you want to dominate the games leading up to them. So far this has not happened.

Look for Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe to make every part of the Wisconsin football team tick. He can hit from the field and hit with his legs. The Badgers defense has been below average to start the year, while the defense, which has been solid thus far, hasn’t been tested much so far.

I can’t wait to see what the atmosphere at Camp Randall will be like. I thought it was a pretty good start to the year. Expect the Badgers to compete early, but I think Alabama will run away with this game in the third quarter. The Badgers have been pretty impoverished in the third quarter so far. There is no reason to believe that will change tomorrow.
