Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo announced Monday that his production company will produce the film. On his Instagram, he posted reports about his fresh film project, in which he will be mentioned as a producer for the first time.
Improbable Media, Antetokounmpo’s production company, has partnered with international production house Studio Galazio and local Greek production company BLONDE SA to produce a heist comedy titled “Mykonos”, named after the celebrated Greek island.
“Guys, you know how much I love Mykonos…” wrote Giannis. “I am very excited to officially announce that my production company @improbablemedia has partnered with @studiogalazio to produce my first feature film as a producer… MYKONOS, written and directed by Christopher Andre Marks, will be available soon…”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the entire cast will star in the film. The main roles will be played by Julia Fox, Riccardo Scamarcio, Klelia Andriolatou, Andrew Georgiades, Panos Koronis, Vito Schnabel, Makis Papadimitriou, Maria Kavoyianni, Yorgos Pirpassopoulos, Alan Asaad and Christos Passalis.
“Mykonos” will take place on the European island of the same name and will tell the story of a group of seedy thieves. It is directed by Studio Galazio CEO Christopher André Marks, who also wrote the original script.
“It is an honor to collaborate on this film with such a talented international cast and crew, especially as we embark on our first major project in Greece,” said Marks.
The film will also be co-produced by Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ginevra Tanberi, Donna Bloom and Raphael Benoliel.

Improbable Media was created by Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and former Chicago Bulls point guard Jay Williams. The duo wanted their production house to provide an opportunity for upcoming athletes, artists and other performers to share their stories.
The studio’s debut project is a feature-length documentary titled “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey”, which details the story of the eight-time journey of NBA stars from Nigeria to Athens.
“At every step of my journey, I realize how unlikely it was that I would end up where I am today,” Giannis said. “In everything we do at Improbable Media, I want to inspire people from all walks of life and backgrounds who want to make the unlikely possible in their lives.”

According to Forbes’ David Bloom, Williams spent years monitoring what LeBron James and Maverick Carter did with their projects at SpringHill Company. The former NBA player hopes to build the same infrastructure as Antetokounmpo at Improbable Media.
